Gallery

The gallery is a javascript enabled page that will load a number of images from either a folder or a set of categories added to a page in the gallery.

The gallery can be controlled by clicking on the left or right side of the enlarged image, or by using the cursor keys.

Create A Gallery

To create a gallery select the option 'Make this page a Gallery'.

The user will then be asked to modify a few options if they wish to change the default settings.

When first visiting the gallery page the thumb nails will be generated so the initial load may take longer than subsequent loads.

Auto Load Images

Images can be automatically load from a directory that is created when you save the settings. This directory will be based on the page name and displayed in the pages Auto Load Images section when setting up the gallery and placed in side the parent folder 'gallery'. You will not be able to alter the captions when you do this, and the captions will display the filename of the image.

Category

You can assign a category to this gallery which will allow you more control of your images. This will also allow you to place images in more than one gallery.

To create a category type it into the text field. This will then make it available when adding pages into a gallery.

Thumb Dimensions

The default size of a thumbnail is 100px. You may alter this to be any size you require based on a square that is auto generated from your images.

If you change the size you must then click 'Refresh Thumbnails' so that the next load will regenerate them. Thumbnails may be cached by your browser and you may need to clear your browser cache this if you are not seeing changes when you alter the thumbnail dimensions. 

Images per page

This will limit the number of images that are loaded on each page of your gallery. If the number of images is greater than this then a page changer will be displayed so your users can continue to browser the remaining images.

The default is 30 images per page.

 

Creating a Page in your Gallery

To add a page to one or more galleries select the option 'Add this page to a Gallery'.

A list of available categories that have been created in the galleries will be displayed. You can select any number of these categories and your page will appear in each one selected.

You can then select how you want this page to be displayed.

Page Display

Here you can select how you want your image or page displayed.

Image

You a can place a single image on the page. The gallery will then use the pages description as the caption.

Page with thumbnail

You can use a whole page as a gallery item. The first image will be used as the thumbnail for this page and as above the caption will be the pages description. The image can have a link or you may place links in the content as needed.
